You need the best baby back carrier to fulfill your dreams of hikes, long walks, and trips through the airport. To be fair, a good baby sling will fit the bill and a few brands even convert from front to back, so they are a practical and viable option.
But, if you're looking the best baby back carrier to do the job, then you'll want something that accommodates your trekking needs. As you look through backpack carriers be aware of a few things.
One - you may need some help getting them on and off with baby. Unfortunately, as cool as our bodies are, they don't allow for reaching around our backs comfortably. You can probably pull it off with some practice, but it isn't going to be super easy.
Two - make sure that the pack has pockets for the stuff you need cause you won't be able to, or will want to, carry two or three packs. However, you also want something that isn't going to cramp your little monkey or restrict his sightseeing opportunities, or yours.
