Picking your sling size is easy! Simply follow these steps and you'll be Huggin' in no time!
Standard Sizing:
- Start by placing one end of a measuring tape on the top of your shoulder on your shirt seam. Using a measuring tape will give you the best measurement and the best fit.
- Bring the measuring tape loosely across your body to the top of your opposite hip.
- Don't pull it tight. You want it loose across your body.
- Use your measurement to find your HugaMonkey size on the chart.
- Have someone you trust with a measuring tape help you measure across your back
- Measure loosely to take into consideration your chest size
Sizes correspond to your average fitted t-shirt size. Measure from the top of the shoulder to the top of the hip. Measure loosely to ensure the right fit.

About HugaMonkey
It was May, 2002. My first baby, a gorgeous gal, graced us and I was given my first baby sling – a hand-me-down from some era past. The concept was fabulous. The execution was atrocious. It had padding around the sides, making it bulky and cumbersome. The rings and long tail were awkward and excessive. And the fabric was ug-ug-ugly! What’s a hot mama to do?
Being a master seamstress, I set to work and came up with a simple, pared-down pouch. No padding meant it could be tossed in the diaper bag. No rings or tail meant no adjusting or worry of slipping. And it was cute to boot! Friends and family began asking for them. Then came the perfect strangers! So I upped the ante.
Five years and nine production models later, the HugaMonkey baby sling is ready for you. With the guidance and support of my handsome hubby, Dylan, and the technological genius of my friend, Clint, we’ve worked our tails off to bring the HugaMonkey sling to the world. We will not lose sight of our founding values: quality, style, and cost.

Our Sling Making Process
It begins with a hunt for fabric: not too heavy, not too itchy, not to boring, not too flimsy.
When something makes the cut, it’s on to the production floor. We use a single cut of fabric to keep the sling’s strength. The edges are four stitch over locked so they won’t fray.
The single sided sling is then roll-hemmed for that beautiful finished appearance. The reversible baby sling gets serged together, then topstitched for a superior strength, attractive edge.
We fold and sew at the shoulder so you don’t ever have to worry about adjusting or slipping.
Finally, we finish the edge with a four stitch over lock, then a French seam, then a topstitch.
That’s a lot of stitching! But that’s what it takes to make a HugaMonkey baby sling that will last through all of your kids and still look fantastic!

Yes. Follow these instructions to breastfeed discretely using your baby sling
- After putting on your baby sling, hold baby facing your bare shoulder, sitting on your forearm
- Pull outer edge over over your forearm and your baby's feet
- Gently drop your baby into the pocket. If you baby is long enough, the feet will stick out the bottom
- Guide baby's head to the same side as your bare shoulder, laying down with the curved seam following his spine.
- Lift baby with your bare arm and adjust the sling to a comfortable spot with your other arm. You may want to slide the shoulder seam further down your arm while nursing.
- With the sling pulled completely over the baby's head, you are now ready to begin nursing!
- Identify the curved seam (bottom) and folded shoulder seam (top with HugaMonkey Tag)
- Place curved seam over hip that you want your baby to be on
- Stick same hand through the sling
- Pull up and over the head on opposite shoulder of hip
- The HugaMonkey tag should be on the outside on your arm
- The seamed edge should be against neck
- The shoulder seam should be on your shoulder blade
- Now HugaMonkey!

Love It or Return It Guarantee
Our 100% Love It or Return It Guarantee is really pretty simple. We want you to love wearing your HugaMonkey baby sling, so it needs to fit "just right", if it doesn't just let us know and we will allow you to return it or exchange it. In order to qualify, we must have your baby sling within 30 days of purchase and in excellent condition. We use USPS Priority mail, which means it will take about 2-3 days to get to us.
Shipping is on us for United States returns or exchanges. If you are out of the US we will accept returns and exchanges but leave it up to you to get the merchandise back to us, and your new sling back to you.
Let us know if you need to exchange or return a sling. We will send you (by email) a return label, which you can attach to a box and send back to us. Once your sling is received in excellent condition (able to repackage) your new exchange will be shipped, or a full refund will be issued.
